Hi all,
We have set up our blogs now. We saw 2 examples of how 2 of our colleagues use their blogs in class. Is anyone else going to try to set up a blog for their students? Any ideas how we could use a blog for our students?

Module 1 Session 1 meeting
So we had our first session and it went well.
There was a brief chat about what the programme intended to do and our roles and responsibilities as facilitator, participants, peer teachers and learners, and students.
We took some time to have a look at how 1 of our colleagues used a blog in her class and then we set about creating our own blogs, mainly for the purpose of reflection. After also being added to the group blog as authors, we commented on each other's blogs, and blog posts to the group blog.
I look forward to what's next from this group. There are some pictures below from the session.

Great to have this forum to keep in touch with you fine educators. I am Susan Fraser (some of you already know me as the 'cool' one) Those of you who are meeting me today for the first time will agree soon enough. I am one of 3 ICT Specialist teachers and this year I am at Savannah Primary and Red Bay Primary where I teach 25 classes a week to 614 students. Hi and welcome!
Hi and welcome to our group blog for the Leaders in ICT programme in the Cayman Islands!
I hope that this programme will be a useful one for you because the idea is that by the end, you will have a better understanding of the technologies available to you and how they can support your school and students. You will also have a better feel of coaching teachers to use the technologies to realise learning outcomes and engage students.
Our first session today, Monday October 22, 2012, will be all about setting ourselves up and getting to know each other a bit more. It will also give you some ideas for using blogs in the class and how they can help students write, reflect and collaborate.
Before you start your tasks, let me introduce myself...
I am Mark Ray and I am from Barbados. I have lived and worked in the Cayman Islands since 2007 at the Department of Education Services and more recently, the Ministry of Education as the ICT Integration Specialist.
Before 2007, I worked for 7 years in the Ministry of Education in Barbados as a Programme Officer and then the Programme Director for an education reform programme called the Education Sector Enhancement Programme. Before that, I taught maths and computer science at my alma mater in Barbados, Combermere School from 1996.
Here is a picture of me looking out at the sea in beautiful East End...
