Module 1 Session 2

How can ICT make us more productive?

I believe in using technology as a tool to enhance productivity. Using technology in the classroom has benefits that will outweigh the absence of technology.
Using PPT via slideshare has the potential to reach students because of the various modes of learning it caters to. Students can see as well as hear or interact with the information being presented.

Today at the session I learned how to create a pivot table using Microsoft Excel. I asked the question: How can I apply this to my classroom? It was interesting the various ways that were suggested. I thought of using it with older students as a tool to analyse their research data. I also thought of using it to analyse my students' test data for further evaluations.

I think having each student with access to a computer will make teaching and learning more productive. For example in writing and going through the writing process, one could easily draft, write, edit, revise and publish a writing piece without the stress of writing and rewriting and then publishing.
I think equipping classrooms will help us to use ICT to make us more productive.
Attached is a copy of the Excel document I created. Have a look. The data is meaningless but the process was a learning one for me.

P.S. Haven't attached it as yet.

Crowley Pivot Table

Hey everyone! Mr. Ray challenged us to create a new document that could assist you in productivity utilizing ICT integration in the classroom. I chose to do a pivot table, which is a great tool for analyzing data. Check out more details about my pivot table on my blog here.

Module 1, Session 2

During session 2 I chose to create a test in Microsoft word. The reason for this is because I have not used this software to create this sort of task in a long time therefore thought that a refresher would be beneficial.

I learnt the most taking the print screen and inserting in this document...;)

Happy Wednesday,

Simone

Happy New Year and Google books

Happy New Year leaders! I hope you guys had a restful break and are ready and rearing to go! As I prepare for our upcoming sessions, I wanted to share this video with yo about Google books. At the end of the video I ask you to use Google books to research ICT as a productivity tool in education. Be prepared to give very brief, general thoughts on the topic, so that means you really don't need to read a dissertation worth of information from Google :-) Here is the video below.
